Destination wedding nightmare....don't let this happen to you!

I had a destination request come in last week from a bride who is planning her wedding in Jamaica for 2012. She seems to be very excited and said that all her planning was coming along great, BUT she was very nervous about booking her hair and makeup for her and her wedding party.

She was stressing out because a friend of hers had got married in Mexico the year before, they had booked their services on location, and her and her bridal party absolutely hated their hair and makeup. She had let me know that the artists unfortunatley did not really understand what they were looking for. They had dated magazines in the salon, and cheap quality products. Their makeup was too heavy, their foundations didn't match their skin, and thought the makeup and hair styles they had done were also dated. Her girlfriend was so upset and they all ended up re-doing their hair and makeup and wasting all that money on getting their services done on location.

I wanted to share this story, not that all resorts are like this. But make sure you do your research on booking hair and makeup on site or with local artists. If you don't have the option of bringing a hair + makeup artist with you to your destination wedding, make sure you can see their previous work of the artists on site, perhaps speak with previous clients who have used their services, and if you have time book a trial before your wedding day. Don't end up with bad destination wedding hair or makeup!

Makeup and Hair and very important in making you look and feel your absolute best on your wedding day. Make sure you are prepared, and are confident in knowing you will look and feel AMAZING!
